5 Easy Meal Ideas to feed a Hungry Family

These are my go-to meals when I am rushing to feed my family between all the activities we do. Some of these can also be prepped ahead of time for an even quicker meal!

Poppy Seed Chicken

Poppy seed chicken is my FAVORITE meal of all time. The hardest part of this meal is shredding chicken (get a chicken shredder to make this part effortless) and making rice (which can also be made easier using a rice cooker). I typically feed three adults (my husband and his best friend) and a toddler, and I make one and a half servings. This stuff is seriously addicting tho!

Sausage and Potatoes

This one takes a little more prep time, but it can be sped up by getting a chopper or slicer. This is definitely the cheapest meal to make and it is my husbands favorite. With this being a skillet meal, you will need someone manning the stovetop for about 30 minutes. When I make this, I also let my 7 month old who is just now starting solids try the potatoes, this recipe gives great tips on making them super soft!

Crockpot chicken tacos

My mouth is watering just thinking about these! Crockpots have a magical way of making chicken soooo tender (I know it isn’t actually magic, but I like to think it is). You can get a big crock pot to feed the whole family, or use a small crock pot just for yourself! If you have both, make some queso in the smaller one to really up your game!

Mac and Cheese

I didn’t link a specific recipe here because mac and cheese can be anything you want it to be! I LOVE chicken bacon mac and cheese to add in some protein, or you can add in steak tips and smoke it! The possibilities are endless, all you need is a good casserole dish!

Baked Ziti

You can never go wrong with a good pioneer woman recipe. Baked ziti is such an easy go to that is also easy on your wallet. If you’re looking to save a little extra money, invest in a cheese grater and buy a block of cheese. Most local grocery stores have AMAZING cheese, you just need to grate it yourself. I promise it is worth the extra effort!!
