8 budget-friendly ways to enhance your home.

My husband and I recently purchased our first home. Once we got in, we realized we were on a LIMITED budget to furnish the home. These are some products that I bought and LOVE. I am an amazon affiliate and I earn commission on these products.

  1. Window Shades
    • We didn’t have blinds in our home when we moved in and we were quoted about $4,000.00 to get them installed. I don’t think I have ever had $4,000.00 in flexible spending, so we had to do this ourselves. After doing a ton of research, I ordered these zebra shades for our home. We have not added curtains, but I don’t really know if we need them. These blinds were everything I wanted and they were about $350.00 total – that is about 8% of the cost to get (these exact same blinds) installed professionally.
  2. Roomba
    • This one is pricier but it goes on sale ALL. THE. TIME. I snagged a roomba for 50% off on prime day (my favorite day) and it has changed my life. We have two very small children who make messes constantly. If I can pick up on my lunch break this thing will sweep (or mop) my entire floor while I am at work. Roomba also has other models that also frequently go on sale if you have different needs for different floor types.
  3. Bar stools
    • These were actually recommended to me by one of my close friends. She has them in her home and I adore the simplicity. They don’t take up much space at all and provide the perfect accent to our home. I was a little skeptical of the seat material, but it has held up so well. My two year old has not managed to tear these apart (yet).
  4. Board Games
    • I do not have these myself but have gifted this item many times. These board games are essentials that every home needs, but without the tacky boxes that are all different sizes. The quality is amazing and you can display these nicely on a shelf instead of shoving them in your linen closet (this is where I keep mine). These felt a little pricey until I compared it to the actual cost of these board games. To be about the same price and elevate the look that much is crazy. I will be ordering a set for myself very soon.
  5. Baseboards
    • Are you a DIY kind of person? So is my mom. She ordered this trim for a renovation for her home and it looks so nice. There are so many color options as well. I can’t imagine spending more than $30 on baseboards after seeing these.
  6. Pots and Pans Set
    • I had been using hand-me-down pots and pans for about four years when I finally gave in and bought a new set. I have had these for about a year now and I absolutely love them. The color has not stained at all. They are truly non stick and I love the removeable handles. I can just put the pot in the fridge and remove the handle when I’m done eating! The lids just sit on top and make it so easy. They sell so many options for these as well, you can find something for any style.
  7. Curtains
    • These are so high quality, I was genuinely impressed when they came in. I love a good blackout curtain in my bedroom, and these take the cake. My electric bill also went down just from having these in the bedrooms. Unfortunately, these did cause me to sleep in and take longer naps.
  8. Nightlight
    • This is one of my favorites. It is magnetic and rechargeable. It is perfect for going to the bathroom or getting some water in the middle of the night, especially for kids who can’t quite reach the light switch. They come in the best colors to match any theme.
